About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to play a critical role in building Lightship’s financial infrastructure and supporting strategic decision-making across the company. This is a highly cross-functional role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and is excited to shape the financial future of a hardtech company at the forefront of the climate transition.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Finance & Planning: Partner with Finance and Business Operations Manager to build and evolve Lightship’s multi-year financial model and long-range planning process. Contribute to company-level strategic initiatives by developing financial forecasts, scenario models, and business cases. Serve as a thought partner on key financial topics including cash runway, unit economics, working capital optimization, and fundraising strategy.
  • Business Partnership & Operational Support: Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop and track key performance metrics, budgets, and spend forecasts. Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support decisions across R&D, supply chain, go-to-market, and manufacturing functions.
  • Financial Operations & Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for internal stakeholders and external investors. Assist with financial audits, compliance tracking, and regulatory filings as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement & Systems Building: Evaluate and improve internal processes to support more timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights. Help implement and optimize financial tools, systems, and dashboards.Identify opportunities to reduce costs, increase operational efficiency, and strengthen the company’s financial position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or consulting
  • Strong working knowledge of 3-statement financial models
  • High attention to detail with the ability to connect the dots between granular data and company-wide strategy
  • A proactive and resourceful approach—you don’t wait for instructions, you seek clarity, build, and iterate
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous financial experience in hardware or manufacturing sectors
  • Experience with NetSuite, or similar ERPs, and business intelligence tools is a plus 
  • Demonstrated success in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where priorities evolve quickly
  • Motivation to help build a high-impact, mission-driven climatetech company — and a desire to be part of a small, passionate team shaping the future of electric RVs

Equity

  • Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.

Onsite/Hybrid Work
Hybrid roles at Lightship require onsite work from our offices Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesdays and Fridays are optional work from home days, when your work will be executed more successfully from home. Speak to the hiring manager to learn more.
