Overview
We are currently hiring for a Vice-President of Equipment within our MasTec Renewables group. This role is responsible for overseeing management, operations, and strategic planning of the Renewables Equipment division.
MasTec Renewables, comprised of Wanzek Construction, IEA Constructors and White Construction, combines over 20+ years of renewable energy construction experience.

MasTec Renewables group is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. MasTec’s Clean Energy & Infrastructure (CE&I) segment generates over $4 billion in annual revenue, providing construction services across industrial, renewables and infrastructure sectors. Responsibilities
This position will establish plans and objectives, as well as policies of the division, in accordance with overall Market Sector objectives. The VP of Equipment will establish protocols for service, repair, maintenance, and deployment of all Renewables division heavy equipment. This position will be responsible for driving compliance with protocols throughout the Market Sector, oversee the management of overall equipment records and will implement regular reviews and assessments to determine needed changes in any of the protocols. The VP of Equipment will also be the primary accountable party for major equipment procurement and financing with primary relationship responsibility for major vendors, financing organizations, and equipment service providers. This position has a significant leadership component that drives success, productivity, teamwork, and creativity within the division along with effective communication, decision making, and service to their internal client base.
Essential Job Functions:
- Establish and maintain clear business operations direction based on company requirements, internal client feedback, economic outlook, and company balance sheet vitality
- Quality delivery of equipment and equipment services to operations
- Develop and manage equipment service, maintenance, and repair protocols throughout the organization
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, developing and presenting regular financial reports demonstrating financial accomplishments relative to targets or goals
- When necessary, participate and give guidance on selected bid reviews to ensure appropriate equipment deployment protocols for typical projects
- Manage equipment disposal plans and protocols
- Aggressively pursue opportunities with suppliers for special programs
- Deploy new and innovative equipment solutions, and changes in equipment strategy aimed at improved financial performance and increased productivity in operations
- Manage contract negotiations and resultant procurement and/or financing arrangements for company equipment
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with equipment vendors, service providers, and financing organizations for equipment procurement
- Develop and manage an organizational plan for the division insuring appropriate bench strength, leadership development for division members, succession planning, and contingency plans for organizational growth or decline
- Develop, implement, and manage record keeping systems appropriate for analysis by the company of equipment overall costs and cost allocation procedures to operations
- Review activity reports and financial reports to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise plans as necessary
- Develop and manage the DOT and Fleet safety programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Ensure division follows and promotes the company’s policies, safety program, procedures, and federal, state and local regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in business management, engineering, construction management, finance, or related field
- Master of Business Administration or advanced degree in finance preferred
- 15+ years in fields related to construction equipment capability, utilization, procurement, maintenance, etc.
- 5+ years in an executive leadership position at a construction company with revenues at or above $500MM preferred
- 5+ years in a position with focus or accountability for equipment related technology and innovation preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated experience in project management, financial planning and analysis
- Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning
- Excellent people skills, with an ability to form and develop a partnership with a dynamic leadership team
- Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission and goals
- Innate ability to apply logical thinking to intellectual and practical problems
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks and ensure follow-through
- Strong work ethic and sound judgment
- Outstanding language and communications skills, both oral and written
- Ability to read and analyze common financial reports and legal documents
- Ability to influence and lead others
- Ability to prioritize work, manage stress, work autonomously
Working Environment:
- When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
- This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
