We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.</p><h2>Overview</h2><p>We are seeking a talented and experienced Corporate Paralegal to help provide legal services on a variety of corporate and securities matters.  Successful candidates will be able to juggle competing priorities and be extremely responsive in a fast-paced environment. A proactive individual with strong organizational skills and a keen sense of judgment will excel in this role. </p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Drafting minutes, consents, officer certificates, and related basic corporate documents  </li> <li>Managing entity formation and maintenance, including state and local filings and business licenses</li> <li>Prepare statutory filings, including director resignations/appointments and change of address</li> <li>Calendar and track statutory compliance obligations</li> <li>Update and maintain organizational charts and prepare periodic reports for internal business teams, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution</li> <li>Manage relationships with registered agents and external counsel</li></ul><ul> <li>Work closely with other members of the team, including finance and tax functions, to fulfill compliance and corporate governance requirements </li> <li>Support broader corporate legal team on other matters, which may include stock matters, M&amp;A, immigration, capital markets, and other projects</li></ul><ul> <li>Assist with preparation of SEC filings </li></ul><ul> <li>Identify opportunities to streamline processes within the department </li></ul><ul> <li>Manage legal accruals and billing  </li> <li>Prepare and circulate litigation hold notices</li></ul><ul> <li>General administrative tasks for the department </li> <li>Maintaining and administering the Legal Team’s files on Sharepoint and in IronClad</li> <li>Support due diligence and KYC (know your customer) requests</li> <li>Process DocuSign requests and ensure compliance with signature approval policy</li> <li>Coordinate notarization and apostille of documents as required</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>3+ years of experience in a similar role </li></ul><ul> <li>Paralegal certificate or Bachelor’s Degree </li></ul><ul> <li>High ethical standards and the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality </li></ul><ul> <li>Self-starter, proactive, detail and deadline oriented </li></ul><ul> <li>A positive, ‘can-do’ outlook, a sense of excitement to learn and contribute to the team’s goals, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.  </li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Experience working in-house in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Familiarity with IronClad, Microsoft suite (including SharePoint) and Google apps </li> <li>Experience at publicly-traded companies supporting SEC reporting</li> <li>Experience supporting litigation intake, including responses to subpoenas and litigation holds</li> <li>Strong preference for candidates located near one of our California offices (Santa Cruz, San Carlos or Marina) with ability to work on site 1-2 days per week</li> <li>Notary commission desirable</li></ul><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $91,000 - $149,800/year salary.
