Position purpose<ul><li>The position is responsible for managing general ledger activities and overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The role also supports overall accounting operations, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective financial control within the organization. </li></ul>Job Description<ul><li>Maintain accurate financial records by recording transactions, updating general ledgers, managing accounts receivable/payable, and performing reconciliations in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.</li><li>Oversee the full AR cycle, including invoicing, payment follow-ups, credit control, customer account reconciliations, and resolving billing discrepancies to ensure timely collection.</li><li>Supervise and provide hands-on support to the General Ledger (GL), Treasury, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) teams.</li><li>Manage company cash flow, ensuring timely collections, disbursements, and effective payment arrangements.</li><li>Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Ensure accuracy and timeliness in month-end and year-end closing activities.</li><li>Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with procurement, payment, and claims submission processes.</li><li>Lead or support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.</li><li>Prepare and review tax returns in accordance with relevant tax regulations.</li><li>Assist in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting activities.</li><li>Monitor regulatory and accounting changes, ensuring timely adoption of best practices and compliance requirements.</li><li>Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including corporate offices, auditors, legal advisors, company secretaries, and financial institutions.</li><li>Undertake special assignments, ad hoc tasks, and other responsibilities as required.</li></ul>Job Specification<ul><li>Possess at least ACCA, CPA, MIA certification or a recognised Bachelor's degree in Accounting.</li><li>Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Senior Accountant role.</li><li>Experience in auditing is an added advantage.</li><li>Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.</li><li>Strong understanding of accounting principles and relevant regulations.</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management abilities..</li><li>Meticulous, self-motivated, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.</li><li>Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.</li><li>Location: Menara IGB Mid Valley</li></ul>At Surbana Jurong, we put talent, hard work, teamwork and a fun workplace together to approach problems and solve them creatively and collaboratively.
