A career at VALIS is one where you’ll be empowered to expand your technical and leadership abilities while having a positive impact on the world. Role Overview This is a role that’s ideal for someone that is eager to roll up their sleeves, be hands on and move fast. As Engineering Technician, you’ll be a key to the successful delivery of our product to customers. This will include fabricating and testing hardware, and managing procurement, inventory and shipping.  What You’ll Own Engineering Design and Analysis <ul><li>Work with engineering to design mechanical parts and systems from concept through fabrication-ready models </li></ul><ul><li>Work with engineering evelop and maintain engineering drawings, tolerances, and BOMs to support fabrication and procurement </li></ul><ul><li>Work with engineering to iterate designs based on prototype feedback, test results, and field observations </li></ul>Mechanical Assembly &amp; Fabrication <ul><li>Assemble mechanical and electromechanical products using hand tools and fixtures </li></ul><ul><li>Fabricate components and hardware as needed </li></ul><ul><li>Support basic electrical assembly tasks including wiring, connector termination, and soldering </li></ul><ul><li>Perform product inspections, fit checks, and functional tests </li></ul><ul><li>Conduct mechanical and fatigue testing on prototypes and production units </li></ul><ul><li>Record measurements, test outcomes, and anomalies during evaluations </li></ul>Inventory, Purchasing, &amp; Documentation <ul><li>Handle ordering, receiving, labeling, and stocking of hardware </li></ul><ul><li>Update inventory, usage logs, receiving spreadsheets, and build records </li></ul><ul><li>Document assembly procedures, mechanical processes, and test workflows </li></ul><ul><li>Help maintain up-to-date build instructions, SOPs, and technical notes </li></ul>Shipping &amp; Customer Support <ul><li>Package and ship completed mechanical assemblies to customers </li></ul><ul><li>Update shipping logs, tracking info, and outgoing inventory records </li></ul><ul><li>Communicate with customers regarding shipments or returns </li></ul>Scrap-Metal Sorting &amp; Analysis <ul><li>Sort scrap-metal samples for testing </li></ul><ul><li>Operate material-analysis instruments to characterize metal composition </li></ul><ul><li>Record measurements, manage sample IDs, and help maintain datasets </li></ul><ul><li>Assist in preparing data for analysis, charts, and internal reports </li></ul>RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For <ul><li>High School Diploma/GED </li></ul><ul><li>Expereicene working in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, or robotics related fields </li></ul><ul><li>1–5 years of experience in technical, mechanical, or hands-on engineering work </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to commute to our facility in Worcester, MA on a regular basis </li></ul><ul><li>Comfortable performing manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds </li></ul><ul><li>Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, tools, fixtures, or fabrication </li></ul><ul><li>Self-sufficient, organized, and able to manage competing priorities without close supervision </li></ul>Preferred Skills <ul><li>Experience with basic electrical work: low-voltage wiring, soldering and PCB-level assembly </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with packaging, shipping, or inventory management </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to solve problems and complete tasks </li></ul><ul><li>Interest in materials, recycling, or sustainable technology (bonus) </li></ul>You’re a Great Fit if You: <ul><li>Thrive in fast-paced environments </li></ul><ul><li>Are highly organized and able to work independently </li></ul><ul><li>Are energized by ownership and solving real-world problems </li></ul>BenefitsWhat We Offer <ul><li>High-impact role with real ownership and autonomy </li></ul><ul><li>Competitive base salary, benefits, and meaningful equity </li></ul><ul><li>The chance to shape a company and solve real-world problems in a critical industry </li></ul>
