Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The HSE Program Specialist will support health, safety and environmental program development or improvements. This person will be well versed in Canadian and US health and safety legislation as it applies to Pattern Energy’s scope of work.  The HSE Program Specialist will work with internal and third party SMEs to develop or update existing HSE Programs. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Support or lead delegated HSE Program improvements, including completed program incorporation within the Corporate HSE Manual.
  • Coordinate and oversee HSE program initiatives with internal and third-party SMEs
  • Support Development Projects and Community Engagement Events
  • Serves as a backup to the administrator of the Pattern EHS Tool

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or work experience coupled with professional designation (i.e. CRSP, CSP)
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation in Canada and US

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Renewable Industry Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience writing and implementing HSE Programs
  • Experience successfully leading and implementing process improvement projects.

Additional Requirements

  • Must have advanced skill using Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, analytical thinking
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to resolve conflicts, problem solving skills
  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $79,000 - $ 99,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, family care benefits, employee assistance program, paid time off and bonding leave, paid holidays, 401(k)/RRSP retirement savings plan with employer contribution, and employee referral bonuses.
