The Project
The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion.
The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
About The Opportunity
Reporting to the People and Culture, ICT Lead, the Senior Industrial Relations Advisor will provide strategic advice and guidance on a range of industrial and employee relations matters. You will collaborate with senior and frontline leaders to promote best practice and achieve best for project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and operational industrial/employee relations advice to the project.
Lead and provide support to leaders managing complex grievances, performance issues and workplace investigations.
Provide regular education and training to delivery and Alliance teams on right of entry processes to ensure compliance with legislative processes.
Provide education and training on enterprise agreement interpretation, industrial relations framework, statutory requirements, and any specific project requirements.
Develop and maintain Industrial Relations policies, procedures, systems and processes.
Manage the Industrial Relations Management Plan and continuous development and implementation of industrial relations strategy across the project.
Participate in the enterprise agreement negotiations consistent with the bargaining strategy and FWC processes.
Ensure subcontractor compliance and coordinate pre-qualification audits and workforce mobilisation.
Identify current and future industrial relations opportunities that may impact the business and develop strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
Manage key relationships with external stakeholders including government, unions, employer associations and legal providers.
Required Skills and Competencies
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or related discipline
Experience in managing and providing advice on disciplinary matters, investigations and resolving disputes
Sound knowledge of employment legislation, including award and enterprise agreement interpretation
Proven ability in managing change processes
Advanced communication skills and an ability to build and leverage strong relationships to influence a broad range of stakeholders, including senior and frontline leaders
Ideally you will have experience in large infrastructure projects supporting head contractors as well as subcontractors
